Last weekend was a busy one here at #vbfarm!  This time of year there’s planning for upcoming spring weddings, tours with couples looking for the perfect venue, and gardening – tons of gardening. Saturday was a big day. Here’s how it went down…

Carmen & Isiah

11:00 – Carmen and Isiah came for their pre-event planning walkthrough. Their wedding is in March, so we’re down to the wire. All the little details for this lovely DIY wedding are coming together nicely. The ceremony will be in the shady grove of oak trees between the barn and the house. The reception will be in the barn – catered by the bride’s Aunt & Uncle. There will be tons of twinkling lights, and candles on the tables (that they bought at thrift stores…so clever!) After a stroll around the grounds, and a few glasses of wine, everyone left feeling excited about their big day!

1:30 – Several vendors from Sonora we here for a promo photo shoot for all of our local wedding businesses. More about that in an upcoming blog post.

Christina & Mark

2:30 – Christina and her bridesmaids showed up to brainstorm their plans for Christina and Mark’s October wedding. This wedding is a new one for us…5 RVs camping for the weekend. What a hoot! As guests arrive, there will be a welcome reception in front of the barn. The ceremony will be under the big oak tree followed by cocktails under the Trellis. The reception will be back in the barn. With a group of 8 women trying to brainstorm things were a bit jumbled. But in the end, we got it all figured out.

This is the part we love! Working with couples, their families, and friends to plan their big day. Stay tuned for an upcoming post about things to think about when planning your DIY wedding.
